  • Red Rot (powdery leather)

  •  Covers detached from text-block

  • Spine part detached

  • Title label on spine missing

After Conservation:

  • Red rot consolidated 

  • Leather waxed and dressed

  • Boards re-attached

  • New leather spine repair underneath original leather spine 

  • New gold tooled title labels

Archaic Treasures offers Book and Paper Conservation treatments to Museums, Archives, Libraries & Collectors, as well as to the General Public.

Estimates are often free for simple or minor treatments, to a non-complex single item.

 

The conservator reserves the right to charge  for estimating for more complex conservation needs, collections of multiple  items, as well as for onsite visits. A charge for more complex estimates where items need planning and/or pre-treatment testing is charged at a rate of £20 per hour plus any tests required.
